Recent News

January 6-10, 2010 - The Earlham College Concert Choir and members of the Rhythm Project toured the east coast (Pittsburgh, Boston, New York, Philadelphia, DC) with Trade Winds and La rosa blanca. Thanks to all for many great performances!

December 1-4, 2009 - I was hosted by Earlham College along with poet Lisa Pegram. We discussed music, poetry, and the collaborative process in lectures and classes. At the end of the week, our piece Trade Winds was premiered by the Concert Choir and Rhythm Project.

November 13, 2009 - The Earlham College Madrigals performed La rosa blanca on their Fall Concert.

May 24, 2009 - Percussionist Tim McKay performed Liebeschlag at Holy Trinity Methodist Church in Alexandria, VA.

May 4, 2009 - Percussionist Kyle Maxwell-Doherty performed Liebeschlag for a master class percussion recital as part of his graduate work at the University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ.

April 30, 2009 - The Sherwood High School Chamber Singers performed La rosa blanca and the Kyrie from my Missa Ecclesiae - the pieces they had recently taken on tour to Italy - at their annual spring concert at Oakdale United Methodist Church in Olney, MD. Thank you to the choir for their dedication and beautiful singing!

March 28-April 2, 2009 - The Sherwood High School Chamber Singers took two pieces on tour with them through Italy. The choir performed La rosa blanca and the Kyrie from my Missa Ecclesiae at the Church of Sant' Andrea in Gallicano, the Church of St. Stefano al Ponte in Florence, and the Church of St. Paul Within the Walls in Rome. Congratulations to the stuidents on a successful tour!

November 12, 2008 - The Sherwood High School Chamber Singers performed La rosa blanca at the High School Invitational concert at the University of Maryland.

November 1, 2008 - Percussionist Tim McKay performed Liebeschlag at the Howard Community College Annual Faculty Gala concert in Columbia, MD.

October 18, 2008 - The Earlham College Madrigal Singers performed La rosa blanca in their fall concert.

May 16, 2008 - The Cathedral of St. Matthew the Apostle presented a concert of the works of local composers. The Schola Cantorum presented two of my pieces, A Baptismal Lullaby and Out of the Deep, along with the premiere of director William Culverhouse's Requiem for Chorus and Harp.

April 28, 2008 - The Chamber Singers of Sherwood High School, Sandy Spring, MD premiered La rosa blanca as part of their spring concert at Oakdale Emory United Methodist Church in Olney, MD. The piece was commissioned by director William C. Evans and the music boosters program of the school.

January 18, 2008 - The Troubadours of C.D. Hylton High School premiered And All for Your Love's Sake at Washington National Cathedral as part of Choral Evensong.

December 9, 2007 - The Symmetry Percussion Quartet at Concordia College in Moorhead, MN performed Four Snares.

October 7, 2007 - I was the featured composer at the 11:30 Sunday Mass at the Cathedral of St. Matthew the Apostle. The cathedral's principal choir - the Schola Cantorum under the direction of William Culverhouse - performed I Will Lift Up Mine Eyes and A Baptismal Lullaby.

May 20, 2007 - A new commission from the city of Rockville, MD and the Rockville Chorus was premiered at the F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre in Rockville, MD. The Chorus - led by conductor Bryan Seith - was joined by members of the Rockville Band to perform Song of These States. My thanks to the Chorus and Band for all their hard work!
