String Quartets
As a percussionist and a singer, I have found that string quartets represent a unique intersection of both worlds: a set quartet of similar timbre that is nearly unlimited in rhythmic or pitch possibilities. I began writing string quartets during my doctoral work, and in fact String Quartet No. 2 was my doctoral dissertation. My quartets are layered with everything I have to say as a composer, and I feel they may represent my most important work.
